Parka Terms and Conditions

  • Parka Lausnir ehf. (ID no. 480616-2270), hereinafter referred to as Parka, is the owner of the Parka smart-app and Parka.is, hereinafter referred to as the Parka software.

  • With the Parka software, it is possible to pay fees when driving into toll areas where, among other things, Parka's Smart Access surveillance system is in use. These areas include those managed by the Reykjavík Parking Fund, the Akureyri Car Parking Fund, as well as other toll areas available in the Parka software.

  • Parking and service fees paid through Parka are always in accordance with the price list of each individual area or operator. The credit card is charged either to the relevant operator's payment gateway or to Parka's payment gateway, depending on the agreements between the operator and Parka.

  • Parka's price list for monthly subscriptions or transaction fees is accessible on the web and in the app at all times.

  • The Parka user is responsible for ensuring that the selected area and the provided information (such as vehicle numbers) are correct.

  • Information from a phone's GPS location can be inaccurate; therefore, Parka only suggests a toll area when initiating parking or an address when booking a taxi. The user is responsible for ensuring the correct area is selected.

  • A smart device requires an internet connection when a product or service is purchased, such as access to a parking space or toll area.

  • Any misuse of Parka is illegal and those found to be doing so will be reported to the police.

  • The value of the purchased service is charged to the customer's card within 24 hours after the customer has made the payment. Parka reserves the right to charge the payment card later if problems arise that prevent the payment, e.g. due to technical reasons.

  • The customer is responsible for selecting the correct vehicle, the correct toll zone and the toll when registering a vehicle in a parking space or when making a payment.

  • The customer is responsible for registering a vehicle from a parking space again in cases where it is possible to register a vehicle in and out of a parking space.

  • Parka is not responsible for the service offered in each individual toll area or by each individual operator.

  • Parka handles all personal information in accordance with the provisions of Act No. 77/2000 on the Protection of Personal Information and the Processing of Personal Information.

  • Parka is not responsible for any inconvenience or damage caused directly or indirectly by a failure in the company's or user's computer equipment and/or software or by other causes that may cause the information to be incorrect or that the user is unable to connect to the service.

  • Parka is not liable for inconvenience or damage that may be caused directly or indirectly due to defects or failures in the software necessary for connection to Parka, the user's browser or operating system or Parka's computer system, or for other causes that may cause actions with Parka to be unable to be carried out or to occur in a different manner than intended, such as due to technical failure.

  • Parka is not liable for damage resulting from ignorance, misunderstanding or misuse by the user or another party. Parka is not liable for damage that can be attributed to incorrect actions by the user or another party. Parka is not liable for damage that can be attributed to external events, e.g. failures, incorrect external information, etc. Furthermore, if the damage can be attributed to events resulting from natural disasters, wars, strikes or due to factors that are considered to fall under force majeure.

  • Parka's Security and Privacy Policy is considered part of these Terms. The policy contains detailed information about security issues and Parka's treatment of your personal information. Parka reserves the right to update the Security and Privacy Policy and the version that is available at any time on the parka.is website is always valid.
