Parka Revenue & Visits Dashboard

One place to follow the revenue and activity of your parking lots.

For parking lot operators · English

Introduction

This dashboard gives parking lot operators one place to follow the revenue and activity of their lots. It combines payments made through the Parka channels (app, kiosk and web), invoices issued through MyParking, and vehicle visits recorded at the lot's entry and exit. The dashboard has five pages, each on its own tab:

Overview
How much is being paid, and how many invoices are sent, month by month?
Payments breakdown
When, and through which channel, do customers pay?
Invoices breakdown
Which customer types are invoiced, and how much is paid or still unpaid?
Visits Overview
How many vehicles visit, how long they stay, what size they are, and when they arrive?
Visits detail
What does each individual visit look like?
Note

The screenshots in this user guide are not based on any customer's data.

Overview

The Overview page is the starting point: four monthly charts that summarise revenue from both direct payments (Parka app, kiosk and web) and invoices (MyParking). It has no controls; each chart shows the full available history.

Payments by time of payment
Payments by time of payment
Bar chart of the number of payments made each month through the app, kiosk and web combined. Each bar is one calendar month, counted by when the payment was made. Use the slider under the chart to zoom in on a period.
Amount paid by time of payment
Amount paid by time of payment
The same layout as the chart beside it, but showing the total amount paid each month rather than the number of payments. Reading the two side by side shows whether changes in revenue come from more payments or from different payment sizes.
Number of invoices sent per month
Number of invoices sent per month
Stacked bar chart of invoices issued each month. The dark part of each bar is invoices already Paid; the light part is invoices Sent but not yet paid. The full bar height is the total invoices issued that month. Cancelled invoices are excluded.
Amount paid from invoices
Amount paid from invoices
Bar chart of the total amount received from invoices each month. Invoices are counted in the month they were paid, not the month they were sent, so the bars will not line up exactly with the chart to the left. The current month is usually low because it is still in progress.

Payments breakdown

This page breaks down direct payments made through the app, kiosk and web, so you can see when customers pay and which channel they use.

Granularity
Sets the time unit used for grouping, e.g. Month.
Measure
Chooses what the charts measure, e.g. Revenue.
Time period
Sets the start and end date for the page. The chosen dates appear under Selected period in the top-right corner. Not applicable to Year-on-Year tables.
Revenue Comparison (Year-on-Year)
Revenue Comparison (Year-on-Year)
Grouped bar chart with one group per calendar month (Jan to Dec) and one coloured bar per year. The legend above the chart shows which colour belongs to which year. Use it to compare the same month across years and spot seasonal patterns.
Revenue by payment platform
Revenue by payment platform
Shows each channel's share of revenue in the selected period as a percentage: app, kiosk and web. The three bars add up to 100%.
Revenue by hour of day
Revenue by hour of day
Shows the share of revenue paid in each hour of the day, from 0 (midnight to 01:00) to 23 (23:00 to midnight). Use it to see which hours bring in the most revenue, for example when planning staffing.
Revenue by weekday
Revenue by weekday
Shows the share of revenue paid on each day of the week, Sunday to Saturday. All seven bars add up to 100%.

Invoices breakdown

This page covers revenue invoiced through MyParking to business customers such as tour operators and rental companies as well as late payment notices sent to private people, and shows how much of it is still unpaid. All amounts include the stay amount and service fees, with the Parka commission not subtracted.

Invoice created date
Limits the page to invoices created within a date range. Not applicable to Year-on-Year tables.
Customer type
Limits the page to one or more customer types (General, Rental Company, Tour Operator).
MyParking Revenue paid and unpaid
MyParking Revenue paid and unpaid
Stacked bar chart of invoiced revenue for each month, counted by the month the visit took place. The dark part of each bar is revenue already Paid; the pink part is revenue on invoices Sent but not yet paid. The full bar height is the total invoiced for visits in that month, including stay amount and service fees. Recent months usually have a larger unpaid share, because those invoices have had less time to be paid.
MyParking Revenue comparison (YoY)
MyParking Revenue comparison (YoY)
The same layout, but invoices are counted in the month the visit took place. Use it to see when the invoiced parking actually happened, regardless of when the customer paid the invoice. Comparing the two charts shows the delay between visit and payment.
Percent paid and unpaid by customer type
Percent paid and unpaid by customer type
Stacked bar per customer type, always reaching 100%. Each bar is split into the share of invoiced revenue that is Paid and the share that is Sent (issued but not yet paid).  Percentages are shown inside each segment. Use it to compare how much of each customer type's invoiced revenue is still outstanding.
MyParking Revenue by customer type
MyParking Revenue by customer type
Total invoiced revenue in the selected period for each customer type, with the amount shown above each bar.

Visits Overview (Visits details)

This page describes the vehicles using the lot: how many come, how long they stay, how big they are and when they arrive. It is based on entry and exit events recorded at the lot.

Note

Not every visit has both an entry and an exit event recorded. Visits with a missing event are left out of this page, so visit counts here can be lower than the actual number of vehicles.

Measure
Switches between number and cars and percent of cars. Not applicable for Year-on-Year graphs
Entry time
Limits the page to visits whose entry falls within the chosen date range.
Number of visits comparison (YoY)
Number of visits comparison (YoY)
Grouped bar chart with one group per calendar month and one coloured bar per year, showing the number of visits. Use it to compare traffic in the same month across years.
Visit length distribution
Visit length distribution
Number of visits in each duration band, from less than 7 minutes up to 3+ hours. Use it to understand typical parking behaviour, for example short drop-offs versus longer stays.
Car sizes
Car sizes
Number of visits by vehicle size, grouped by seat count: up to 9 seats (cars and vans), 10–23 seats (minibuses), 24–32 seats and 33+ seats (coaches and buses). "Unknown" means the vehicle size could not be determined by a lookup in Samgöngustofan.
Arrival time by day and hour
Arrival time by day and hour
Heat map with weekdays (Monday to Sunday) as rows and hours of the day (0–23) as columns. Each cell's colour shows how many vehicles arrive in that hour on that weekday: the redder the cell, the more arrivals. Hover over a cell to see the exact number. Use it to identify peak hours at a glance.

Visits detail

This page lists every individual visit in a table, for when you need to look up or export specific visits rather than totals.

Controls. The Controls bar offers Granularity, Measure and Time period. Use Time period to limit the table to visits in a chosen date range.

Visits with car size and length. One row per visit, with these columns:

Vehicle category
Vehicle size by seat count (Up to 9 seats, 10–23, 24–32, 33+ or Unknown).
entry_time
Date and time the vehicle entered the lot.
exit_time
Date and time the vehicle left the lot.
Visit length
Duration band of the visit, using the same bands as the Visit length distribution chart.
